Ashley Saunders

Originally from St. Albans, but now living in the Suffolk countryside, Ashley Saunders creates artwork of quirky farmyard and country animals.

The self-taught artist is inspired by the beautiful Suffolk countryside, with all its nature and wildlife. “I’ve always had a love of nature and am constantly inspired by the animals that surround my home and Suffolk studio.”

As well as the East Anglian wildlife, the animal artist also loves the Lake District, regularly holidaying there with family. Ashley Saunders finds this is the perfect opportunity to get creative inspiration with all the beautiful wildlife and calm surroundings.

“By using a mixture of acrylic paints and pastels, I try to capture the soul and character of all the animals I paint and give each of them their own individual, quirky personality. I want to keep my art work light and fun in the hope that it makes the viewer smile.”
