Emily Crook
Emily Crook is an urban artist whose art brings a vibrant and contemporary twist to many nostalgic, iconic and much-loved characters from her childhood.
Born in 1996 and fresh out of University, Emily Crook has burst onto the art scene in recent years. Having studied Graphic Design in London at Middlesex University, Crook has always had a deep-rooted passion for art and illustration. Upon graduating, Emily changed her career path and became dedicated to creating art professionally and finding her unique artistic vision. The artist takes her inspiration from fashion, culture, pop and street art and merges these with icons from popular culture which she grew up surrounded by.
The artist has always followed street art and this takes influence in her collections. Vibrant backgrounds consisting of semi-abstract shape and designer logos are created using spray paint and hand-cut stencils, over which Emily Crook paints her chosen icon(s) using acrylic paints.
Crook’s most loved childhood icons can be found wearing luxury brands and having fun sporting accessories or holding designer bags, giving them a fashionable, stylish or amusing edge and revealing the artist’s personal love of fashion.
A fresh, up-and-coming artist, Emily has completed private commissions including creating single and album covers for music artists such as Tion Wayne and other rap artists. Her original mixed-media paintings are already being exhibited in galleries across the UK and she has gained recognition from one notable, world-famous urban artist who commissioned his own Emily Crook original painting.
