Hamish Herd

Hamish Herd is a South African artist and sculptor whose works have been described as possessing an exquisite sense of movement and an ever classical quality.

Born in South Africa, Hamish is now based in Yorkshire in the United Kingdom where he shares a creative studio with his wife, Brenda Herd.

With a passion for art since his earliest memories, Hamish studied a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Art History as his major. The artist then began his career by teaching art at Redhill School although felt that ‘the art world was calling.’ It wasn’t long before he became a full-time professional artist and 25 years later, Herd is as dedicated as ever about producing the highest standard of excellence in each artwork.

Thriving off new challenges in the creative arena, Hamish works in several disciplines including painting, drawing, designing and sculpting, with his latest limited editions in Jesmonite Stone receiving popular attention. Whether sculpting or painting, a sense of spirituality may be detected as the artist draws on his faith for inspiration in every piece of Art.
