L.A. Girl Monroe is a striking mixed-media tribute to Hollywood glamour and cultural iconography. Etched and hand-painted onto 12mm maple-veneered board, the work combines wood stain, spray paint and lacquer to create depth, texture and a sense of timeless allure. The layered background incorporates lyrics from “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend,” subtly woven into the composition to echo themes of fame, desire and spectacle. The piece is presented in one of the artist’s bespoke, hand-crafted Feature Frames, made entirely from scratch and embellished with diamond motifs and archival images of Monroe set into each corner. Measuring 86 × 86 cm (99 × 99 cm framed), this Premium Deluxe edition stands as a bold statement piece that merges fine art, craftsmanship and pop-culture mythology.
“I create each artwork digitally, using a range of techniques including drawing, image manipulation and digital collage. The finished design is then engraved onto 12 mm maple-veneered board. producing a 3D reference image. From there, I refine the piece by sketching in details, hand-painting in layers with wood stains and lacquer to build depth and richness.”

Description
Rob Bishop is known for his iconic imagery and unique style which is achieved through designing, engraving and painting on wood. A Hertfordshire based artist, Rob’s artistic journey started when he studied Graphic Design and Model Making at University.
For a number of years, the contemporary artist worked as a cabinet maker. By utilising all of his skills, Rob Bishop has developed a recognisable style of art which fuses modern technology with classic techniques. Specifically, Bishop uses a mixed media approach to combine digital art, wood work and painting.
Each individual piece of art by Bishop, including the bespoke wooden frame, has been created in its entirety from scratch. Many layers of wood stain and lacquer are applied to the works to ensure uniqueness in every piece and all of his works and frames are signed and thumb printed.
