Vibrant colours have been associated for a long time with uplifting our spirits and energy level. Therefore it is little surprise that many of our clients here at CLK Art look to inject ‘a pop of colour’ into a space at home or work.
Now, in light of the Coronavirus pandemic, rainbows have – perhaps more than ever – become synonymous with hope. They can be seen in windows of homes, schools and businesses where children (and adults) have displayed their rainbow creations for all to enjoy. Recognised as a symbol of solidarity and support for key workers and NHS staff on the front line, what could be a more positive theme at this time?
Therefore, we have compiled some of our favourite Rainbow-themed artworks to share with you and, we hope, brighten your day…
1. ‘You Got Me’ by Jean Picton
Framed Original Painting in Mixed Media, Framed Size: 57 x 57 cm, Price: £350
“I visited India in 2011 which left a lasting impression on me. The intense colours I saw around me challenged my thinking as to how I could replicate the importance of the relationship of colours to each other thus creating movement on canvas. My latest works are the result of this thinking. I have taken the abstract form to a larger scale, intensified the colours by adding a resin finish, thus improving the “movement” within the work.” Jean Picton

3. ‘Chasing Rainbows’ by Leanne Christie
Framed Giclée on Paper, Limited Edition of 75, Framed Size: 57 x 87 cm, Price: £295
“My head is full of a million paintings and any chance I get to transfer that on to canvas is heaven…time simply disappears and I find it therapeutic. Especially if I’m dealing with some issue, painting gets it all out of my system and all that energy whether negative or not gets put on canvas, it’s never wasted. In fact, I’ve produced my best pieces when I’m dealing with rubbish in my life.” Leanne Christie

5. ‘Rainbow Regatta’ by Rozanne Bell
Framed Original Painting in Mixed Media and Hand-Poured Glaze, Framed Size: 73 x 120 cm, Price: £995
Born in Zimbabwe, Rozanne Bell developed her artistic career there, painting the colourful flora and fauna of Africa, which she then personalised with her own humorous perspective. She came to Britain in 2002 and – whilst her style and subject has since expanded greatly – the memories and influence of her native country are reflected in the vibrancy and depth of her paintings. Today, Rozanne’s love of the Dorset countryside where she lives, as well as the coves, seascapes and harbours of Cornwall, play a large influence in her art.
